Amelia Island Book Festival

The Amelia Island Book Festival is Feb. 12-13 and features authors Pat Conroy, Rick Bragg, Sonny Brewer, Cassandra King, Janis Owens, Jeff Shaara and more.

A Writers' Workshop in partnership with the Amelia Island Book Festival and Florida State College, Betty P. Cook Nassau Center, will feature Brewer and Pulitzer Prize recipient Bragg, King, Owens, Shaara and other special guests in an all-day workshop from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 12. The cost is $90 and includes a luncheon.

In addition, a free readers' day with a variety of sessions will be presented Feb. 13 at the St. Peter's campus in downtown Fernandina Beach. A luncheon with keynote speaker and featured author Jeff Shaara is sold out.

A breakfast with novelists Janis Owens and Cassandra King is Feb. 13 at 8 a.m. at the Fernandina Woman's Club. The Micah's Place Auxiliary cookbook, A Savory Place, Culinary Favorites of Amelia Island, will be available for sale to help support the many programs the shelter offers. Breakfast tickets are $30 and available at The Purple Dove, Books Plus and the Golf Club of Amelia.

Highlighting the weekend is a special event at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 featuring best-selling author Pat Conroy and his daughter Melissa for a father-daughter presentation and book signing at the historic First Baptist Church in Fernandina Beach. Tickets are $50.
