GOP outspends foes 13 to 1 ~ Seagraves vs. Coe

Sheriff Tommy Seagraves has raised $81,369 in his bid for reelection, more than 13 times that of his opponent.
Fernandina Beach Police Capt. Jim Coe, running for sheriff on the Democratic ticket, raised $6,125, including $1,500 in loans to himself and $387 in in-kind donations.
Contributions to Coe included $2,000 from the Nassau County Democratic Executive Committee and $200 from the West Side Democratic Club; $500 from Raymond Roberts Jr. of Amelia Island; $500 from Phil Morton of Bryceville; and $250 from Susan Hurley of Fernandina Beach and $250 from her and her husband, city police Chief Jim Hurley. Coe also received $500 from the Coastal Florida Police Benevolent Association Justice PAC Fund in Port Orange.
The Republican Party of Nassau County contributed $4,000 to Seagraves' campaign. Donations totaling $1,000 came from Callahan Body & Paint, Florida Petroleum of Fernandina Beach, Patricia White of Yulee, Florida Mechanical Systems of Jacksonville, Copyfax of Jacksonville, and attorneys John Cascone of Fernandina Beach and Robert S. Willis of Jacksonville. Republican Party stalwart Doug Adkins of Fer-nandina Beach gave $750 and his wife, state representative candidate Janet Adkins, $500.
Sheriff's office employees contributing $500 or more to Seagraves' campaign included attorney Marylne Clark, Deputy Sheriff Carl Woodle, office manager and paralegal Linda Starr and deputies Eugene Clark, Robert Rowe, Thomas Reeves, Terrance Diperna and William Jones. Other deputies and sheriff's personnel made smaller donations.
Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach $500 donors included Jean Seagraves, Marie Sea-graves, Clyde Davis, David Bowman, Herbert Schotten-feld, Harrison Neal, William Gower, Clark Hoshall, James Pledger, Summer Beach Amenities Venture Ltd., Summer Beach Development Group Ltd., Golf Club of Amelia Island, Fernandina Lumber and Supply, Fernandina Beach Truss Co., Hurst Holding LLC and Kelley Towing and Recovery LLC.
In Yulee contributions of $500 or more came from Rick Keffer Dodge Chrysler Jeep, BS Land Investment Inc., Martha Barber, Vernon Barber, Joyce McKendree and attorney Wesley White.
Donating $500 or more on the West Side of Nassau County were CB Radios Plus LLC, Oakhill Farms, Quality Chemical Co. and Norman Wingate, all of Callahan; Robert Carter and Davis Produce, both of Hilliard; and Frank Starr of Bryceville.
Seagraves also received support outside of Florida, including these Atlanta companies that donated $500 or more: Harbor Management Co., Wynchase Apartments, Wyn-scapes Apartments, Harbor Creek Apartments, Group III North Apartments, Wyntree Apartments, Harbor Lakes Apartments, Palms of Apala-chee Apartments and Caribu Apartments. All share the same address, 3190 NE Expressway, Suite 410 in Atlanta.
Other out of state contributors of $500 or more included Thomas King of Chicago, ATN Inc., a telephone specialist in St. Marys, Ga., Joan Towery of Atlanta and Bennett Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Kingsland, Ga.
Keefe Commissary Network LLC, an inmate commissary business based in St. Louis, donated $600 over the course of the campaign.
Out of county contributions totaling $500 or more came from Hillegrand Rides of Lighthouse Point; CE Parish General Agency Inc. and Cyril Parrish, both of Bushnell; Al Estes Bonding Agency Inc. of Clearwater; Kenneth Under-wood and Steven Berman of Ponte Vedra; John Dell, Laura Dell, Laura Shoar and Joel Bolante, all of St. Augustine; and the Realtors Political Action Committee of Orlando.
Jacksonville contributors of $500 or more included Nichols Truck Bodies Inc., Florida Roof Decks, JL Equipment, All American Bail Bonds, Federal Employee Benefits Group Inc., BBG Contracting Group Inc., Concrete Profiles, W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor, Miller Electric Co., Florida Roads Materials LLC, C&G Mecha-nical, Daniel Strickland, J. Baker, Laurie Baker, Harriett Day, Stephanie Whiddon, K. McLeod, Henry Autry and Susan Walden.
